Education should be open to everyone, this is a central concern of EUCU.NET, the “European Children’s Universities Network”. 65 members in 33 countries worldwide pursue the goal of giving children and their families an insight into science and research – especially those for whom university is not yet a matter of course.
Karoline Iber, founder of the Children’s University of Vienna, was reappointed as President of the network, and Silvia Prock, Director of the Young University Innsbruck, was appointed as a second Austrian to the EUCU.NET Presidium. Together with Jolanta Różowska, founder of the Malopolski University for Children in Trzebinia (Poland), they will represent the members for the next two years and further develop EUCU.NET as a sustainable and integrative network.
Recently, EUCU.NET was able to celebrate a particularly successful year in Egypt: Since 2015, 34 children’s universities have been created there with the help of EUCU.NET, reaching more than 16,400 children in 2018.
